Legislators Blast CWC Announcement on Water Storage Projects
The California Water Commission recently announced that none of the nearly dozen water storage proposals they have received provide adequate “public benefits” as defined by Prop 1 and interpreted by the Commission.
This is unacceptable. Increased water storage must be part of any efforts to increase our water supply. Proposition 1 was passed after good faith negotiations and an agreement that nearly $3 billion would be included in the bond for water storage.
Today, numerous other legislators joined in petitioning Governor Brown to corral these regulators who thus far have failed to honor the agreement Prop 1 represented. Their letter can be accessed at the link below.
