Assemblymember Gray Leads Rally to “Stop the State’s Water Grab” (Sacramento) - Assemblymember Adam Gray (D-Merced), along with hundreds of farmers, laborers, students, and concerned citizens, rallied at the State Capitol to protest the State Water Board’s proposal to divert water from the San Joaquin Valley to the Bay Delta. Assemblymember Gray says the Water Board’s proposal will devastate farming communities, cost thousands of jobs and endanger drinking water, while still failing to improve water conditions in the Bay-Delta. “This plan will decimate the economy of the Central Valley,” Assemblymember Gray said. “…For the past six years I have repeatedly called on the Water Board to listen to our concerns—they have refused. Today our community has come to the steps of the State Capitol to make sure our voices are heard loud and clear.” To see more of the rally, watch this Assembly Access video. http://www.asmdc.org/gray
