Assemblymember Gray Hosts Public Safety Summit in Merced

(Merced, CA) – The murder rate in Merced County is over double that of the average murder rate in the State of California.  And according to the Merced County District Attorney, the lion’s share of those homicides are gang-related.  California State Assemblymember Adam C. Gray (D-Merced) thinks that’s unacceptable, which is why he hosted the Merced County Public Safety Summit at Merced City Hall.  Assemblymember Gray was joined by other elected leaders, local officials, law enforcement, social service groups and the public to take a hard look at the problems and come up with ways to address issues.  Watch this Assembly Access Video to hear comments from Assemblymember Gray and other officials.
