For immediate release:

SAN MATEO – Today, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas announced that Assemblymember Diane Papan has been selected as the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife.

“Management of scarce water resources, flood control and protection, and maintaining the health of our world-renowned natural treasures and ecosystems are ever more urgent needs for all Californians,” said Papan. “As Chair, I look forward to developing and shaping these efforts to meet our challenges now and for future generations.”

The primary jurisdictions of the Committee are water resources, flood management, fish and game, parks and recreation, and wildlife.

“The Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife serves as the steward of California’s lush nature reserves and precious natural resources. I’m confident that Assemblymember Papan’s long history of efforts to address natural disasters and climate change make her the right person for this role,” Speaker Robert Rivas said.
