As someone born and raised in San Mateo County, I’m grateful to serve the Bayside communities of Assembly District 21.
As your representative in the California State Assembly, it’s been an honor to represent you as Assistant Majority Leader and now as Chair of the Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee, where I’ll also be continuing the fight for a sustainable future on the Select Committees on enhancing Wildfire Prevention, Sea Level Rise Protections, and Green Innovation.
In 2023, I championed and secured nearly $35 million for the district to address core services that keep residents safe and healthy including public safety/emergency communications, safer streets, water reliability, youth health and wellness, and park improvements.
I’ll continue to address the most urgent issues of our time including wildfire prevention, drought, climate change, flood protection, affordable housing, clean and reliable water, reproductive rights and accessible, quality healthcare.
Working together, I’ve authored legislation removing dangerous chemicals from women’s health products, increasing access to paid family leave benefits, creating new incentives to build more affordable housing, and ensuring communities that are the most impacted by pollution receive funding for clean water.
I’ll continue to focus on everyone’s ability to be safe and healthy, and I will champion a fair and strong workforce and economy that expands green jobs and applies innovative approaches to addressing the challenges of our times now and for future generations.
Thank you again for stopping by. Please stay in touch by joining our eNews updates and contact my office if we can be of assistance with a state agency, to comment on legislation, or to suggest your own bill idea.
Sincerely,
DIANE PAPAN
Assemblymember, 21st District
